Billy Jo Jive: Super Private Eye

Aug 2025 - Dec 2025

Billy Jo Jive: Super Private Eye is a Location-Based Entertainment (LBE) project developed at Carnegie Mellon University’s Entertainment Technology Center. Inspired by the original Billy Jo Jive stories, the experience invites players to step into a mystery-solving adventure where they assist the iconic duo in cracking cases.

Position:

- Technical Artist
- Mechanic

This project was initiated at CMU ETC under the guidance of Department Head Darek Ham, who connected our team with the current IP rights holder—the late creator’s wife. With her trust, we were given creative freedom to reimagine Billy Jo Jive while ensuring inclusivity and representation across race and gender. Our team is developing the project as a Location-Based Entertainment experience, similar to an escape room but designed with open entry and exit to encourage flexibility and accessibility. Players take on the role of assistants to Billy Jo and his partner, helping them unravel mysteries through interactive challenges, puzzles, and narrative-driven exploration. The goal is to blend the nostalgic charm of the original series with an engaging, modern, and socially thoughtful interactive format.
